Dr Louis Lorenzo

I am a historian based in North East England, with particular expertise in environmental history, the history of childhoods, and contemporary British history. Methodologically I am an expert in the use of oral history and other participatory methods like walking interviews, workshops, photography, and mapping. I also have strong interests in public history, transport and urban planning, and sustainability.

I studied my undergraduate degree at Newcastle University (2017-2019), a masters at the University of Bristol (2019-2020), and recieved funding from Northern Bridge for my doctorate at the University of Northumbria (2021-2025).

I have worked as researcher and administrator for the Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Throckley Primary School, and the Negotiating Childhood Around the Pacific Rim project. I am also working on several co-authored publications that will come out of the Pacific Rim project in 2027 and 2028.

I currently work as a research associate on the SAFE project (Systemic Autism-related Family Enabling).

Hobbies include music, sewing, tabletop games, gardening, and many other outdoorsy activities.
